If you will not be using one of the materials listed above or another silica-containing material, You Don’t Need a Silica Control Plan.
To find out if a material contains silica:
Option 1 – Check the label on the material
Option 2 – Check the Safety Data Sheet
Option 3 – Review the published data
Option 4 – Analyze a sample of the material
REMEMBER: OSHA’s Silica Standard requires employers to include silica in their program to comply with the hazard communication standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), including ensuring employees have access to labels for materials containing silica and safety data sheets.
